Why we draw the garden in section before we plant it
A plan tells you where things go. A section tells you how tall they get, how deep they root, and whether they will still be there in year three.

The layer most gardens skip is the one below the datum
Everyone budgets for the plants. Almost nobody budgets for the soil, the drainage and the three years of establishment that decide whether the plants live.
