How we do it
A lawn that looks good in its first spring is mostly down to the ground under it. We strip the old grass and weeds, rotavate, bring in screened topsoil where the level needs it, and firm and rake the whole area until it is flat enough to lay a straight edge on.
Turf is cut the morning it is delivered and laid the same day, with joints staggered like brickwork. We roll it, water it in, and leave you a watering card for the first three weeks. September and October are the best months: the soil is warm and the rain is reliable. Spring works too, with more watering.
Prices start at £24 per m² for a straightforward level lawn and rise to around £32 per m² where there is a lot of levelling, poor access or topsoil to bring in.
